Duties and Responsibilities

These positions are located in the Office of Supply Chain Management (OSCM) in the Department of Operational Support (DOS). Our interns work as full members of our team, pursue projects that are designed to make a significant difference in OSCM, and have opportunities to learn about the United Nations overall. The Office of Supply Chain Management includes the Office of the Assistant Secretary General for Supply Chain Management, Logistics Division, the Procurement Division, the Uniformed Capabilities Support Division, Global Service Centre, Aviation Safety Section and the Enabling and Outreach Service. OSCM is committed to building efficient, agile, responsive, accountable, end-to-end uniformed capabilities and supply chain solutions for all our global partners and clients. The office of Supply Chain Management covers a wide scope of services including supply chain planning and performance management, logistical support, procurement, vendor management and supplier diversity, aviation safety, and uniformed capabilities support. In addition to operational services and support, OSCM also provides advisory services and guidance to nearly 100 client entities globally, as well as to troop and police contributing countries (T/PCCs). The incumbent will report to the relevant Supervisor. OSCM offers internship opportunities in Strategic and Project Support. The intern will: • Support OSCM in the execution of 2026 working Projects. This includes preparing documents and presentations (if needed), as well as performing any other tasks associated with its preparation, execution, and subsequent reporting activities. • Support the implementation of changes to OSCM Policy Framework as applicable and approved, including the resulting modifications to any Manuals, Assistance with other specific projects may also be required. • Supports project management activities, including documenting, and coordinating project tasks ensuring accuracy. • Assists in tracking project progress and timely completion of deliverables on a daily, weekly,and/or bi-weekly basis. • Manages time efficiently and meets deadlines, demonstrating flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities. • Utilize tools such as Microsoft 365 Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint (when needed), Outlook and SharePoint.

Qualifications/special skills

To qualify for an internship with the UN, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher). (b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent); or (c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined above). We are open to a broad range of educational and professional backgrounds. Typically, for this opportunity our interns are pursuing studies and experiences in the following areas: Administartion, Management, Finance, Strategic Planning, Talent Management, Compensation & Benefits, Human Resources, Psychology and Social Sciences. Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required.

Additional Information

Visa and Work Authorization Mandatory Requirements: For internships in the United States of America, persons who are not United States citizens, permanent residents or on another non-immigrant (such as F1 or J1 visa) status, will be required to obtain a G4 visa. The selected person will be responsible for ensuring that they have a valid visa, and approved employment authorization (CPT/OPT/AT), allowing them to undertake the internship.
