Context
Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Finance Hub and direct supervision of the Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME) the National Payroll System Officer will be responsible for the maintenance, enhancements, streamlining and simplifications of global common Payroll functions in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application by working closely with Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
In general, the successful candidate is responsible for standardization of payroll processes, improving financial controls, enhancing reporting and compliance needs, reducing costs and errors in the areas of global payroll processing.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Master’s degree Information Technology or Computer Science or a related field from an accredited academic institution with two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or;
- University degree in the above fields with four (4) years of relevant professional experience.
- Knowledge with Oracle payroll ERP.
- Certified Oracle Payroll Cloud Implementation Specialist is desirable.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
- Experience in Payroll functions, with expertise in the Oracle Payroll module. Should have worked on at least two implementations or support projects.
- Experience in Payroll project delivery and operational support covering multi-country and multicurrency context would be an advantage.
- International experience in UN Global Payroll environment at an international professional level would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service to team members and a proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of team members and management with high ethical standards are required.
SKILLS
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to work as a member of a team, with people of different cultural and religious backgrounds, different genders, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity.
- Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, as well as the ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities.
- High level expertise of HR and Payroll module of leading ERP application.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and project management.
- Knowledge of entitlements and benefits linked to payroll.
- Demonstrated understanding of complex payroll concepts and practices with ability to compute frequent and complex calculations accurately is required;
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- High level expertise in PL/SQL, Excel and reporting tools.
