Role summary
This position requires an individual with strong leadership abilities; representational, communication, and risk management skills; and a facility for developing networks to build partnerships and diversify resources. Seeking to both grow and diversify Islamic Help s income, you will focus much of your efforts surrounding growth from trusts and foundations, institutional and statutory partnerships, as well as major donors.
Key responsibilities
Responsible for registering and setting up a base office in Turkey, setting its structure and processes, and defining future workforce requirements and developing staff towards country strategic plan.
Responsible to lead the development of the organisational strategy, clear and agreed strategic objectives and plans of Islamic Help in Turkey.
Responsible for the management, coordination and development of Institutional Fundraising activities of Islamic Help Turkey. In particular, you will:
a) Deliver an agreed financial target in support of Islamic Help s aims by securing new partnerships and maintaining existing contracts
b) Create and deliver pitches and presentations of the highest quality to prospective donors
c) Manage corporate relationships to the highest standard, ensuring that the terms of all partnership agreements are met in a timely fashion
d) Maintain accurate prospect, donor and donation records and manage efficient systems for sharing information.
e) Motivate and develop a suitable and safe working environment is provided for the staff.
Responsible to influence and manage relationships at the highest levels to build mutual understanding, shape perceptions of Islamic Help and create positive image over the medium term.
This role profile is not exhaustive and is subject to review in conjunction with the post holder and according to future changes/developments in the service. All job descriptions are non-contractual and give a sense of the broad scope of the role and so include a level of flexibility. Whilst they list some key tasks there will also always be tasks that arise and which can be reasonably expected of the role.
Person specification
You might be an experienced fundraiser within the Turkish NGO sector or worked in community development for several years with strong skills in developing partnerships. Equally, you may be an experienced sales or business development professional looking to use your talent to make an impact for disadvantaged people across the world. Wherever your experience is from – charity or private sector we are looking for the right person. experience and skills are important to us, but mostly we want someone who is motivated by their passion to help change the lives of young people.
Required skills/qualifications:
Significant experience of creating and developing effective relationships with senior external stakeholders, including at least one of trusts and foundations, institutional donors and philanthropists
In-depth understanding of Turkish-type Development Assistance Model, funding streams, priority areas, and requirements of TIKA, AFAD and Turkish Red Crescent and various nongovernmental organizations
Evidence of securing meetings and winning partners at a high level
A holistic approach to developing partnerships, utilising skills from across the organisation and building proposals that meet the partner s requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including delivering presentations and compiling partnership agreements
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
High degree of computer literacy, including systems management and research skills (to identify/profile prospective donors)
Confidence to meet with senior corporate figures and speak to them about our work Current driving licence and willingness to travel across England for meetings and events.
