Key Responsibilities.

• The Key tasks of the USLA Supervisor include but are not limited to:
• Consolidate reports for the USLA monitor activities.
• Support in training the USLA leaders on USLA Methodology for sustainability
• Identify and document VSLAs to be linked to financial institutions in liaison with the ERD Manager and USLA monitors.
• Coordinate the activities of the USLA monitors including supporting the movement plan.
• Support and coordinate work plans for the USLA monitors.
• Liaise with the Business trainers on the micro-enterprise track to support USLA activities when needed.
• Lead all aspects of the activity work plan implementation and follow ups on progress VSLAs growth and sustainability.
• Facilitating EA$E discussion series to VSLA group members and their spouses/Partners
• Support to coordinate and facilitate Business and life skills training to VSLA members.
• Monitor groups/ individual businesses and guide the group members on business management.
• With mentorship of Senior Livelihoods officer develop weekly action plans that directly reflect overall work plan activities.
• Participant in staff training and capacity building.
• Develop relationships with Community leaders to insure the smooth implementation of project.
• Undertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Plans and conduct follow-up visit to clients ensuring they are accessing quality services at Vocational training Institutions, Apprenticeship partners and business premises.
• Prepare and submit reports as required and incorporate client’s feedback in a timely manner, including information related to services received.
• Work hand in hand with other staff members especially Livelihoods Senior Officer and Livelihoods Assistant in ensuring daily attendance timesheets are filled and collected on time. Work with data officer in updating the database in the Commcare on clients registered and accessing services.

Key Result Areas

• Ensure timely client needs assessment and services are provided as per BILLY project requirements.
• Coordination of VSLA activities.
• Facilitate timely linkage/referrals to protection services as needed.
• Offer Business counseling services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Sciences/Counseling/psychology/ community Development or other related field preferred.

Required Experience & Proficiency

• Experience of working with reputable organization or local organizations/groups, in provision of Livelihoods/ economic and social empowerment support to clients both urban Refugees and Vulnerable Kenyans Youths.
• At least 1-3 years’ experience in formation, training and monitoring of VSLAs especially in urban set up.
• Excellent listening and observation skills, including ability to build trust, support, respect and get along with clients of all background and diversity.
• Experience working with communities in direct service provision to vulnerable groups, including Youth and women with protection issues.
• Good facilitation skills.
• Concrete knowledge in computer skills. Knowledge of open source tools such as ODK collect, KoBo Toolbox or CommCare platforms. Kobo /CommCare data entry will be an added advantage.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients at all times is significant.
• Ability to lead, train, supervises, and motivates other staff and local partners in their respective tasks in a professional, respectful and encouraging manner.
• Positive and professional attitude, able to facilitate, maintain composure and prioritize, work hard, work for longer hours when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks with adherence to detail.
• Prior knowledge/ work experience with IRC Livelihoods/protection activities is a plus.
