icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Staff Nurse – Midwifery under the Nutrition and Clinical Services Division. The appointment will be made on a Short Term (CSA) basis for 7 months for its 200 Bed COVID-19 Isolation and Treatment Center (ITC), Teknaf which is renewable depending on performance and availability of funds.

Duty station – Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar

Salary Monthly Tk. 49,763/ -inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits.

Position Description:

The position holder will receive, register, examine and provide treatment to the patients come through the emergency and outpatient department with the objective of enabling the Hospitals for effective management of patients within the icddr,b procedures. The specific areas of responsibilities are detailed below:

• Planning and Review: Plan, develop and direct nursing training, risk management and infection prevention activities in the hospitals under HSS Program in order to ensure proper implementation and evaluation of the program; Monitor regularly for reviewing improvements and generating data and update Director, Teknaf COVID-19 Treatment Centre in order to smooth planning and review of Medical Activities.
• Education & Training: Offer standard nursing training to the nurses of the hospital under HSS Program; Prepare training materials; Plan and deliver relevant training in order to ensure standard procedures are in practice.
• Risk Management & Infection Control: Set agenda, Plan, Coordinate & Monitor risk management and infection control activities which includes but not limited to hand hygiene, handling of sharps, biomedical waste management, aseptic techniques etc; Coordinate and organize the safe disposal of waste and hazardous substances at the hospitals under HSS Program; Follow and investigate the incidents of hospital infections & HAI; Generate reports and reporting them to the Head, Clinical Governance & Systems; Fill questionnaire, administer intervention to implement research activities in order to mitigate risks and establish effective infection control system.

Requirements:

Education and relevant experience:

• Diploma in Midwifery or equivalent qualification with good academic records;
• Minimum 3 years relevant experience with valid registration from Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council.
