About The Role
The Senior Treasury Officer is responsible for managing AGF’s end-to-end treasury function, with a strong emphasis on sovereign and supranational bond portfolio management, liquidity optimization, and IFRS-compliant accounting for investments. The role requires a highly hands-on professional who can combine:
Technical treasury expertise, Strong accounting and IFRS knowledge, Advanced data/automation skills (Power BI, Excel, Python), and the Ability to execute operational tasks while advising strategically.
Treasury & Investment Management
The Senior Treasury Officer will oversee liquidity planning, execute investment strategies and manage AGF’s bond portfolios in line with IFRS 9 and internal policies. The role includes monitoring portfolio performance, developing analytical insights for reporting to the Treasury Management Committee and Board, and maintaining strong relationships with financial partners to support effective treasury operations.
Financial Risk & Governance
The officer will monitor key financial risks, ensure compliance with IFRS standards, and oversee accurate accounting for all treasury-related instruments. They will strengthen controls, reconciliations and documentation, and provide clear analysis to support the Treasury Committee and overall governance.
Process Improvement & Automation
The role requires developing automation tools, improving amortisation and reconciliation processes, and creating dashboards for real-time treasury and investment reporting. The aim is to increase efficiency, accuracy and visibility across treasury operations.
Receivables & Collections
The officer will manage debtor and tenant collections, ensure accurate posting, and maintain ageing schedules. They will also support improved receivables recover and provide insight into collection performance.
Other Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities include supporting financial reporting and budgeting, participating in audits, and contributing to system and policy improvements across treasury and finance.
