Purpose of the role

The Senior Nutritionist will be a key member of the Technical Team at ENN, bringing additional skills,

expertise and capacity to the delivery of ENN’s projects.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Nutritionist will work across a range of ENN projects which will vary during the period of employment, but may include:

· Management of Acute Malnutrition in Infants (MAMI)

· Infant Feeding in Emergencies (IFE)

· Field Exchange (FEX)

· Nutrition Exchange (NEX)

· En-Net

· Global Technical Assistance Mechanism (GTAM)

· Knowledge Management for the Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement

· Wasting and Stunting (WaSt)

· Adolescent Nutrition (ADO)

· Sector Leadership (LEAD)

· Multi Sectoral Programming

Examples of the types of responsibilities the postholder will hold, depending on the specific project requirements and their experience, may include:

· Coordination (multi agency, working groups and forums)

· Development and updates of technical materials and briefings

· Knowledge Management

· Research and Mapping

· Publications – support and development of content, editing, liaising with stakeholders and suppliers

· Reports and Analysis development

· Development of technical resources

· Monitoring and Evaluation

· Project Reporting

· Project Indicator development and management

· Project Proposals

· Case Studies

· Field Visits

· External Representation

· Communications

· Synthesising and disseminating information from technical meetings

· Events engagement

Person Specification

Essential requirements

· Bachelors Degree in Nutrition/Community Nutrition or Public Health or Medicine discipline

· Demonstrable field experience across several relevant aspects of emergency nutrition programming including CMAM, MAMI, IYCF, Adolescent Nutrition

· Experience of knowledge management, and / or projects that focus on ‘learning’

· Strong knowledge of the current key topics and challenges in the International Nutrition sector, including MAMI, ADO, IFE and beyond

· Excellent communication, written and analytical skills

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to synthesise and sense make complex data and information

· Strong interpersonal skills, motivated, takes initiative, innovates and drives progress

· Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills

· Good cross cultural awareness

· Excellent presentation and communication skills and experience of establishing good working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at national and global level

· Ability to independently manage a diverse and busy workload, prioritising effectively, and able to work both autonomously and as a member of a dispersed and diverse team

· Demonstrable experience of working on projects funded by government and international donors (ideally including OFDA and DFID)

Desirable requirements

· Post graduate level qualification in a relevant area would be an advantage (D)

· Experience of developing training resources and delivering training related to child health/nutrition (D)

· Experience of supporting health programmes/system strengthening in developing contexts (D)

· Nutrition/nutrition-related primary research experience (D)

· Sub-editing experience / experience in producing high quality publications (D)

· Currently part of the ‘humanitarian community’ with own professional network of contacts (D)

· French speaker or another relevant language to our portfolio would be an advantage (D)
