About Interpeace

Interpeace is an international organization for peacebuilding. We were initially established in 1994 by the United Nations to develop innovative solutions to build peace. We have a proven and recognized approach to enable people to build lasting peace. Together with local partners, we jointly develop peacebuilding programmes. We help establish processes of change that connect local communities, civil society, government and the international community through our Track 6 approach. As a strategic partner of the United Nations, Interpeace is headquartered in Geneva and supports locally led peacebuilding initiatives in Latin America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Background

Interpeace’s Strategic Partnerships and Communications Unit (SP&C) is responsible for the design, coordination and implementation support for a wide range of communications and external relations activities in order to position the organization’s expertise, mobilize resources and engage with the wider public on conflict-related issues in accordance with Interpeace’s Communication Framework.

Interpeace is a decentralized organization and works in different contexts and languages, particularly in English and French.

Interpeace’s website is the organization’s main communication channel and its content is mainly produced in English. However, to reach wider audiences, particularly those located in French-speaking countries, Interpeace is developing a bilingual website which requires translation of the English content into French.

Interpeace seeks to hire an independent service provider to deliver upon demand English/French translation services. This include, but is not limited to:

• Institutional descriptors.
• News and webstories.
• Briefings, articles, press releases, video subtitles.

Preparation and Submission of Proposals

Interpeace invites qualified service providers to submit a bid to provide the services described in the Terms of Reference, which form an integral part of the present Request for Proposal (RFP).

The Bidder shall bear all costs associated with the preparation and submission of its proposal, and Interpeace shall not be responsible or liable for those costs, whether direct or indirect, regardless of the conduct or outcome of the RFP, nor if the RFP is cancelled, altered or postponed for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, any and all costs incurred for pre-proposal clarifications, oral presentations, site visits, and subsequent meetings and negotiations. All offers shall be prepared in English. Offers shall comprise the following documents:

1.Technical Proposal

The Terms of Reference (ToRs) of the services requested by Interpeace can be found in Annex 1. The technical proposal should include the following information:

• A list of experience in providing translation services to international organizations and other similar clients in the past 5 years.
• A description of the provider’s professional background and technical ability to produce and deliver high-quality translations from English to French. This includes providing samples of the translator’s latest work. Examples of translated content about international affairs, peace and security, human rights, etc., will be an asset.
• A translated text of an institutional Interpeace document, included in Annex 2.

2.Financial Offer

This must contain an all-inclusive offer in US Dollars.

** Please only share a financial offer for the initial phase of translation – 5,000 words.

The cost of preparing a bid and negotiating a contract, including any related travel, is not reimbursable nor can it be included as a direct cost of the assignment.
