About POINT

POINT was established by a group of humanitarian workers. Its headquarter is in Gaziantep, Turkey. As an organic non-governmental organization, the co-founders of PONT realized the crucial capacity gaps and needs for the civil society and communities to play a greater role in improving the response to the humanitarian crisis and better contribute to the stabilization of their conflict-affected country. POINT provides capacity development to the local civil society and communities actors as well as local staff in INGOs. This is in order to strengthen their voice, increase their impact and bring about the development of diverse, inclusive and independent civil society and communities.

Main Tasks

· Develop and organize the project’s workplan in coordination with the project manager.

· Provide technical support to the Project Manager in implementing project’s activities.

· Follow up the scheduling of implementing the project’s activities with the field staff.

· Connect with the Syria-based staff regularly to provide a briefing on proposed activities, implementation and monitoring plan and roles and responsibilities of each team member.

· Support in developing project’s tools.

· Support the project manager in developing project’s narrative reports.

· Keep tracking for all project’s documentation.

· Perform any other duties as assigned.

· Ensure effective implementation of Project in accordance with program requirements and in line with Donor regulations and international standards;

· Coordinate and work closely with Project Team throughout programme planning, design implementation and monitoring and evaluation.

· Conduct capacity-building for community groups and staff

· Be responsible for providing Technical guidance on all project components in Syria , giving support to the Program team and the implementing partners during planning, designing and implementation of Roads rehabilitation activities.

· Participate in conducting joint assessments and planning responses together with other team and follow up on the recommendations.

· To provide guidance and training to program staff to ensure that all work is carried out in a way that is sensitive to community needs and gender issues.

· To provide technical expertise and guidance to staff as appropriate, in (for example, but not limited to) assessment, monitoring, evaluation, reporting (Internal and Donor Reports), financial management, proposal development, technical design of roads and highways and the exercise of judgment skills.

· Work closely with field teams on objectives, indicators and activities and develop clear monitoring frameworks for each program in collaboration with the M & E Officers

Qualification & skills

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

· Previous experience in Topographic, highway, construction projects implementation and supervising

· Experience in Project Cycle Management (PCM)

· At least two years’ work experience, with relevant tasks, good knowledge of the humanitarian aid system with a special focus on Community based projects;

· Previous experience in remote project management;

· High interpersonal skills with a strong analytical approach in problem solving and management;

· Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Arabic.

· Good command of MS office programs.

· Proved Experience in AutoCAD, and basic knowledge of other engineering software.
