The Opportunity
ROLE PURPOSE: The project Manager will lead the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Ending Child Marriage project activities. S/he will coordinate SCI project team to ensure proper and timely delivery of activities, and will provide progress updates on monthly, quarterly and annual basis. S/he also will also involve in budget management activities of the project.
Additionally, S/he will work on the development of monitoring plan with MEAL department, PDQ team and partners. S/he will organize project teams for regular meetings to assess progress on monthly and quarterly basis. S/he will develop project progress reports as per the donor requirement as well as whenever needed by the hub, country office or the donor, to keep the donor informed on implementation progress. S/he will closely work with the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, and the National Alliance to End Child Marriage and FGD at national level and in Amhara region, and other relevant government offices and stakeholders to jointly implement project activities, monitor progress and support coordination. The project coordinator will represent SCI at external forums/meetings at field office level as required in consultation with the line manager.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Programme management
- Lead the implementation of Ending Child Marriage project;
- Coordinate between SCI and key government stakeholders on the implementation of the project;
- Prepare regular progress reports of the project in compliance to rules and guidelines of donor and SCI;
- Provide feedback and share lessons learned from project implementations;
- Serve as the sub-budget holder for ending Child Marriage project;
- Ensures that appropriate technical back up is given to the project by different sector leads within SCI;
- Ensures the quality, relevance and integrated nature of the project.
Monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance
- Monitor and systematically document project results;
- Assist and facilitate regularly scheduled reviews of projects with project team, government partners and stakeholders;
Stakeholders and partner management
- Foster collaboration among government and non-government stakeholders;
- Liaise with and creates conducive working relationship between SCI and key project stakeholders at national, regional and global levels;
- Conduct regular monitoring visits of the project, government, and partners at the project sites and prepare reports for documentation and follow-up actions;
- Closely work with stakeholders in the preparation of periodic and project completion reports;
Other
- Represent SCI in forums/meetings on areas related to the project, as required;
- Collaborate with Immediate Supervisor and PDQ Learning and Knowledge Management to ensure proper documentation of experiences and lessons learned from projects under supervision;
Performs other related activities as assigned by immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of Bachelor Degree in social sciences, gender studies, law or equivalent;
- At least 8-year experience in gender equality programing out of which a minimum of 3 years in coordination or management role;
- Experience and understanding of social norm programming particularly on prevention and response to child marriage;
- Knowledgeable on national and international commitments for gender equality including the Coasted Road Map to End Child Marriage and FGM;
- Well-developed analytical and strategic planning skills with the ability to influence the wider project implementation;
- Demonstrated experience of report writing and presentation skills;
- Demonstrated experience of conducting trainings and providing capacity building to local partners and beneficiaries;
- Demonstrated experience in researches including gender analysis and formative researcher;
- Excellent interpersonal skills including diplomacy and tact in order to be able to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders including NGO partner and government officials;
- Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures;
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision;
- Computer literate, fluent in English, both verbal and written, required
- Willingness to have regular travel to project is implementation area;
