Program Facilitator – JNO MOFA (Kwekwe) – Job Description

                                                                                                                                     

Reporting to the Program Area Manager, the job holder is responsible for providing leadership and facilitation at district level in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs funded “Improving Secondary Education Environment Project in the Kwekwe District. 

Accountabilities:

  • Leads overall planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of the “Improving Secondary School Environment project
  • Coordinates school infrastructure development in Kwekwe district. This will include liaison with local and regulatory authorities, contractors, service providers and the Project Engineer.
  • Facilitates and supports training of school development committees on school infrastructure management for sustainability
  • Integrate the Plan International Safeguarding Policy with project activities at district level
  • Coordinates training of school authorities and teachers on positive discipline and supports the adoption of positive discipline practices within schools.
  • Coordinates training of school-based child protection committees and community-based child protection committees, and involves them in planning of awareness raising activities on positive discipline.
  • Write weekly, quarterly, mid-term, and end-of-term project progress reports
  • Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to:  Gender equality and inclusion mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities

Knowledge:

  • A degree in social sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience at a similar level in Education, Community Development, and Child Rights programming
  • Knowledge of programming issues that include child protection, education and disability trends
  • A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s licence.
  • Ability and willingness to ride a motorbike.
