Program Facilitator (JNO-MOFA) – Job Description

Reporting to the Program Manager and Program Area Manager (PAM), the jobholder is responsible for providing leadership and facilitation at district level in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs funded “Improving Secondary School Environment” project.  The role will ensure set objectives and targets are achieved.

Accountabilities

• Leads overall planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating of the “Improving Secondary School Environment project”
• Coordinates school infrastructure development (school facilities and furniture) in Epworth district. This will include liaison with local and regulatory authorities, contractors, service providers and the Project Engineer.
• Facilitates and supports training of school development committees on school infrastructure management for sustainability
• Integrate the Plan International Safeguarding Policy with project activities at district level
• Coordinates training of school authorities and teachers on positive discipline and supports the adoption of positive discipline practices within schools.
• Compiles monthly and quarterly project progress reports for sharing with donors, district, provincial and national stakeholders

Child Protection & gender equality mainstreaming

• Promotes and abides by Plan policies and procedures including but not limited to:  Gender equality and Inclusion mainstreaming, Safeguarding Policy; Code of Conduct and the related mandatory reporting responsibilities

• Compiles and safely keeps the project’s district database.

Coordination and networking

• Participates in, develops and strengthens collaborative relationships at district levels in child rights to enhance Plan’s program performance

Knowledge

• A degree in social sciences or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.

• A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience  at a similar level  in Education, Community Development,  and Child Rights programming
• Knowledge of programming issues that include child protection, education  disability, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
• A Class 3 or 4 Driver’s licence
• Ability and willingness to ride a motorbike
