About the role – what will you do?

We are seeking a National Lead, Italy to join Pathways International’s powerful global team.

The National Lead will play a crucial role in supporting the successful development of Labour Mobility Pathways for Displaced People in Italy and the wider ecosystem of pathways at the national level.

Working under the leadership of the Vice President, Global Partnerships and in close collaboration with the Director for Europe and a second Italy-based colleague focused on program coordination and local engagements, together with key strategic partners, the selected candidate will contribute to the national-level coordination of our engagement with authorities, strategic planning, engagement with philanthropic partners, and the advancement of financial and other innovations we are introducing in Italy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaborations and coordination with stakeholders, particularly international organizations, public authorities, foundations, and NGOs, fostering effective communication and building positive working relationships.
  • Drive the design of innovations in the Italian pathways landscape, including by leveraging innovative financing and technological solutions, to support the emergence of efficient and effective pathways.
  • Drive successful partnerships with foundations and philanthropic actors to resource the ecosystem.
  • Support the development and nurturing of strategic partnerships, ensuring coordination and linkages with territorial (local) levels.

About You – Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a highly organized and self-motivated person who excels at relationship management, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. You should demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, discretion, tact, and responsibility. We particularly encourage applications from qualified candidates with lived experience of forced displacement, migration, or with close personal and cultural connections to refugee communities.

  • You have proven understanding of the relevant field, including forced displacement, migration issues and politics, refugee protection, or related issues.
  • You have at least 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g., public policy, public affairs, political science, international development).
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Italian, and can lead online and in-person meetings and give presentations both virtually and in person.
  • You have experience in engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and private sector partners.
  • You have proven experience in developing and executing successful engagements with philanthropic actors and/or mobilizing public funding.
  • You excel at organizing programs, events, and projects, and can manage budgets, schedule meetings across time zones, coordinate people, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and experience collaborating with people from different backgrounds, countries, cultures, and languages.
  • You can prepare compelling PowerPoint presentations and are comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, Zoom, MS Teams, and SharePoint.

Location:

This remote position will be based in Italy and will work with a global team. Applicants contacted for evaluation will be asked to provide proof that they have the legal right to work in Italy. Maintaining such legal right is a condition of employment.
