Background:
Income and non-financial contribution from private sector (Individuals, Corporates and philanthropic partners) has consistently grown in Latin America and the Caribbean during past years, becoming the most important source of funding for the programs in the region and helping achieve programmatic goals with the private sector as a development partner.
UNICEF identified the need for strengthening its management of private sector partnerships using UNISON (Partnership Management System). PFP will participate in a global project to inform and support this change, to connect and collaborate as one UNICEF towards accelerating achievement of our private sector partnerships goals.
Purpose of the Job:
1.Lead from PFP LACRO, the full implementation of UNISON system in LAC. This includes:
2.Ensure alignment of other projects related to partnerships in the region such as due diligence process and risk management, business for results and strategic outreach to governmental and intergovernmental partners.
3.Support other projects related to UNISON and to the broader partnership work in the region as needed.
Expected results and deliverables:
Implement an 8 months workplan in the region to ensure that the System is used in its full potential to achieve the above-mentioned objectives (presented in the PURPOSE section). The plan needs to consider a System Analysis phase and an Implementation phase.

Key qualification, technical background and experience required:
Education:
An advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Sociology,, Marketing or equivalent professional work experience. A first degree with commensurate work experience would also qualify an applicant for the post.
Experience:
A minimum of five years working in the field of partnerships management including experience with private sector.Experience working in a UNICEF office and familiarity with the work of UNICEF National Committees would be an asset.
Additional skills:
Language Requirements:
Oral & written fluency in English and Spanish required. Working knowledge of Portuguese would be an asset.

Supervision
The contractor will work with guidance of the Regional Chief Partnerships, and in close collaboration relevant specialists (Corporates, Due diligence, Philanthropy, CRB), within the UNICEF PFP Unit of LAC Regional Office.
Individual Contractor’s workplace:
The hired individual contractor will work primary from home office but will need to be present every week to meet with PFP regional team in the Panama office.

Estimated start date of this individual contract is: 8 months.
