About the organisation:
Trust Consultancy and Development is an independent monitoring and evaluation and capacity development consultancy based in Gaziantep, Turkey, providing a range of services to the whole of the MENA region. Our work addresses the growing demand for a range of third-party monitoring and evaluation services in light of the intensified humanitarian response to the escalating civilian suffering in Syria and other parts of the MENA region. Our clients include international and local NGOs, businesses, donors and third parties with vested interests in different aspects of development and humanitarian action.
About the role
Trust is looking to expand its pool of local and international Technical Consultants across the full range of humanitarian sub-sectors, including WASH, protection (gender-based violence, psycho-social support, child protection), health, education, NFIs, cash-based responses, livelihood, shelter, capacity building, vocational training, and agriculture.
The purpose of the Technical Consultant is to provide technical support for TPM and evaluation projects for clients. Trust’s project management team provides overall leadership of the project, including fieldwork management, project deliverables and managing the client relationship. Specific tasks of the consultant will depend on the project scope and the consultant’s availability but may include the following:
· Providing technical input to proposal development, including methodology design
· Conducting desk review of project documentation
· Developing an evaluation matrix and key research questions
· Providing technical input and review of research tools and methodology
· Reviewing compiled data, and develop key findings and recommendations
· Reviewing final report draft and responding to client feedback
· Attending meetings with a client, remotely or in person as required
Potential Technical Consultants in our pool will be contacted at the Proposal stage of a project to gauge their interest and available time commitment. At this stage, we will discuss with the consultant their and Trust’s roles in the project in more detail.
The Technical Consultant should:
1- Hold a university degree, preferably Masters level or higher, in a relevant field
2- A minimum of 5 years of working experience in the field of expertise, preferably in the MENA region
3- Have expertise and experience in social science research, including mixed methods and notably quantitative and qualitative primary data collection methods
4- Have expertise and experience in research, monitoring, and evaluation in humanitarian emergency response contexts
5- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with various stakeholders and to express concisely and clearly ideas and concepts
6- Have excellent report writing and editing skills
7- Fluent/native English speaker, Arabic is an advantage
