Position Objective

The Web Communications Specialist is responsible for 1) creating, managing and sharing knowledge with partners through the GCF website to advance the GCF Communications Strategy and help shape GCF’s public profile, and 2) leading the development of a cutting-edge, user-friendly website that is innovative, easy to navigate, and reflects the image and brand voice of the Fund across multi-channel platforms.

Duties and Responsibilities

Purpose

• Capture the needs of partners and priorities of colleagues to conceive, develop and implement the online presence of GCF, including development of new content.
• Adopt policies and establish parameters to ensure timeliness, consistency, and quality of website services, applications, and deliverables in line with GCF’s brand, voice, and communications strategy, including social media.

Engagement

• Develop and secure outreach, advocacy, and partnership opportunities to increase readership of GCF’s online presence.
• Lead and supervise the website team and secure collaboration with colleagues, partners and vendors to conceive, design and launch new web features and projects (e.g., interactive components & microsites).

Delivery

• Organize outputs and adapt procedures to ensure smooth running of web operations and coordination of all aspects of web content.
• Anticipate/plan for operational dimensions that may affect quality and delivery, and analyze and summarize website progress, challenges, solutions, and targets.

Required Experience and Qualifications*

• Master’s degree in business management, website development, external relations, marketing, etc.
• Minimum of 7 years’ professional experience in leading major website development/renewal projects and 5 years experience in Drupal;
• Experience in construction and maintenance of document management systems that comply with internationally-recognized audit standards and make technical and complex information accessible.
• Proven understanding of the concepts of developing engaging online user experiences, and web applications that facilitate partnership engagement;
• Thorough knowledge of industry-standard front- and back-end software and tools, web design functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation across multiple platforms;
• Innovative team leader experienced in working at a fast pace, under tight deadlines, and with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds;
• Excellent written & oral communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages an advantage.
