Purpose of the position:

The Field Coordinator will be responsible for timely OVC and HIV Prevention field case management and coordination to enable an active, ongoing process that assists and enables beneficiaries to access services and assure their rights and procedural safeguards.

1 Responsible for facilitating direct field level implementation of prevention and OVC interventions of the project 30%
2 Conduct and sustain community and stakeholder engagement and relevant entry to facilitate project ownership and cooperation 20%
3 Provide direct supportive supervision to HIV prevention, livelihoods and OVC field officers including oversight in planning and delivery of field engagement 10%
4 Facilitate comprehensive quality data flow, reflection and adaptation of approaches in the field 10%
5 Enforce sustained field officers engagement with community cadre 10%
6 Facilitate beneficiary engagement project 10%
7 Supports overall project management of the 5%
8 Capture and document field dynamics, lessons learnt 5%

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:

  • Minimum Qualification required: A Degree in Health/ social sciences. Possession of an advanced degree (Masters level or above) in the field of public health desirable.
  • Experience:

    • Experience in project management and coordination
    • Minimum five years’ experience in project coordination of health, HIV projects
    • Facilitating community interventions and stakeholder engagement as well as group activities an asset
    • Previous training/experience in Health services programming required
    • Experience in coordinating USAID/ PEPFAR Funded project required
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in community Health & HIV/AIDS -related fields.
  • Technical Skills & Abilities:
  1. Prior Work Experience: A minimum of five years of progressive and responsible experience in strategic planning, monitoring and evaluation, project design, program management is required.
  2. Experience in Programme Coordination and supportive supervision required
  3. Experience in report writing (management and donor reports)
  4. Skills and Abilities:
  5. Communication, leadership, team management, negotiation and risk management skills
  1. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, ability to develop evaluation protocols, and conduct target setting with measurable outcomes.
  2. Must be adept in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  3. Ability to analyze, organize, and interpret data and present findings in both oral and written form.

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: spending 70% of his/her time in the field
  • Spending 30% of his/her time in the office
