Job Summary:

The position will assist with coordinating the implementation of the APC 2.0 activities in South East and Kgatleng districts.  The position will liaise with district District Health Management Teams, District AIDS Coordinator and other PEPFAR partners to ensure that APC 2.0 program activities are aligned to the district heatlh priorities. The post holder will work with APC 2.0 partners to plan, direct schedules and monitor activities across the two districts.

Accountabilities:

  • Act as the project liason person at district level, coordinate planning and implemention of activities in the two districts.
  • Oganize and coordinate partner weekly project performance review meetings. Use data to identify and monitor strategies that need to be scaled up for greater program impact.
  • Work with Implementing Partners and DHMT facility staff to ensure smooth flow of informantion and referral of clients for continuity of care across the HIV care cascade.
  • Coordinate district report compilation and timely submission to DHMT and other key stakeholders.   
  • Collaborates with technical team, partner managers and headquarters technical staff to ensure that targets are met and activities are implemented according to USAID, FHI 360, and Government of Botswana program frameworks and standards.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with district stakeholders including DAC, DHMT, VMSAC, DMSAC to ensure support for the project.
  • Participates in performance review meetings and submit reports as scheduled.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or its International EquivalentKnowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Environment, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences International Development, Human Development or Related Field.

Experience:

  • Typically requires a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience with public health program management, US Government rules and regulations.
  • Experience in community based HIV and AIDS programming, and technical assistance to CSOs implementing these programs
  • Articulate and professional and able to communicate in a clear, positive fashion with clients and staff.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English; fluent in host country language as appropriate.
  • Prior work experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or private organization.
  • Prior experience using Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Typical Physical Demands:

  • Typical office environment. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; ability to lift 5-50 lbs.

  • Personal Computer, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, cell phones, PDAs and other hand held devices.
