UNICEF works in some of the world’s toughest places, to reach the world’s most disadvantaged children. To save their lives. To defend their rights. To help them fulfill their potential.

Across 190 countries and territories, we work for every child, everywhere, every day, to build a better world for everyone.

And we never give up.

For every child, hope

UNICEF protects and promotes the rights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does. UNICEF is committed to child safeguarding in delivering on its mission, meaning taking proactive measures to limit direct and indirect collateral risks of harm to children, arising from UNICEF’s work, UNICEF personnel or UNICEF associates.

Implementation of UNICEF’s global child safeguarding regime is overseen by the Child Safeguarding Unit in New York Headquarters. As a division of UNICEF, the Private Fundraising & Partnerships Division (PFP), based in Geneva, Switzerland, has accountabilities under the child safeguarding regime. Going forward, further work is envisioned to develop and embed standards; update and provide technical guidance, support and training for National Committees, PFP staff and partners; and to further embed child safeguarding in all aspects of PFP’s work.

PFP is therefore recruiting a full-time child safeguarding expert consultant to support and implement its child safeguarding work in PFP and with the National Committees.
