Background:
CRS offices in the Philippines, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, and Micronesia constitute a sub-regional hub with overall leadership from the Sub-regional Country Representative based in Manila (Philippines) supported by a Country Manager in Jakarta (Indonesia), a Country Manager in Dili (Timor-Leste), and a Country Manager in Yap (FSM). The Timor-Leste, Indonesia and Yap offices report to the Sub-regional Country Representative. CRS has a long, distinguished history in the sub-region, going back to the establishment of the Philippines program in 1945. In the intervening decades, CRS has responded to large-scale emergencies like the 2004 Tsunami in Indonesia, the 1999 war for independence in Timor Leste, and the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. CRS’s humanitarian work in the sub-region has been balanced by a long-running commitment to economic and human development, includi ng a current portfolio of livelihoods, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Savings and Internal Lending Communities (SILC) and peacebuilding and non-violent conflict resolution. CRS’s long, dynamic history in the sub-Region is complemented by the novelty and vibrancy of one of the Agency’s newest offices in the world in Micronesia, opened in early 2017.

Job Summary:
As Business Development (BD) Specialist II you will lead the production of high quality applications for funding in support of CRS’ engagement with institutional donors and initiatives involved in international development to serve the poor and vulnerable. Your knowledge and skills will allow you to provide specialized assistance in all dimensions of the BD cycle to cross-discipline and cross-functional teams. You will work closely with the senior management team in your sub-region, and with the ASIA regional business development manage r, and regional team.

Job Responsibilities:
The Asia Business Development Specialist will support CRS’s competitive positioning for and pursuit of private and institutional donor resources, with an emphasis on competitive funding mechanisms. With a core function of supporting and leading the production of high quality applications for donor funding, this position will also provide specialized assistance in other dimensions of the business development cycle, knowledge of specific program sectors or funding sources including corporate and other non-traditional sources, and other business development activities based on agency needs and the specialist’s interests and skills.
