icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates for the position of Assistant Manager M & E and Learning with USAID’s Alliance for Combating TB in Bangladesh Project of Emerging Infections under the Infectious Diseases Division. The appointment will be made on Fixed Term basis for 1 year which is renewable depending on performance and availability of funds.

Salary Annual Tk. 1,272,710/ -inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances and other admissible benefits.

Benefits/facilities 14.8% provident fund contribution, income tax paid by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,917/- per child per month, festival bonus, contributory healthcare support including dependent spouse and children, group life insurance and subsidized canteen. Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.

Position Description:

The position will be responsible for coordinating the MEL component of the program, ensuring compliance to icddr,b as well as donor regulations across all partners and assist the program in achieving the results defined in the cooperative agreement. S/he will be accountable for ensuring highest level of compliance with award conditions, organizational policies and procedures, and acceptable standards.

  • Project implementation and Monitoring: Coordinate the monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) component of the program; Assist Senior MEL Advisor in development of overall MEL plan; Submit and get the plan approved through the COP; Undertake regular monitoring and technical support visits to the field sites to assess progress against approved plan; Assist the Senior MEL Advisor to monitor program implementation by the partners and ensure that proper progress is being made across all partners;
  • Project Learning and Administration: Work closely with the the Senior MEL Advisor to design and implement activities to strengthen capacity of project staff in M&E activities through provision of technical support skill assessment and training; Maintain strong partnerships and regular communication with the project partners, and other key stakeholders;
  • Project evaluation and reporting: Provide oversight and technical assistance to junior staff members of the MEL team to enable routine tracking and dissemination of set indicators as per approved plan; Coordinate implementation of electronic and paper-based data and information management systems across the project partners;

Requirements:

Education and relevant experience:

  • Masters Degree in any discipline with a preference to health-related subjects
  • 5 years’ experience in working with different public health projects, specialization in monitoring and evaluation, development of MEL plans as per USAID template, and technical assistance;
