integrating financial management with operations by establishing appropriate policies and providing adequate financial systems, tools and training throughout the organization. The Financial Controller is also responsible for compiling, maintaining and tracking the organization s operating budget; provides strategic financial analysis and system input as needed across departments to improve organization effectiveness in collaboration with the CFO; and manages the accounting department in a manner consistent with organizational goals and objectives and good accounting practices.
KEY ACTIVITIES IN YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDESupervising, overseeing and managing all accounting aspects of the organization, including establishment and maintenance of effective policies and procedures to ensure a strong level of internal controls.Supervising our Staff Accountant, Mission Accountant, General Ledger Accountant and Accounts Payables.Overseeing all aspects of financial recordkeeping within the organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP.Leading the annual budgeting process from design through approval to regular monitoring and feedback to department heads.Managing all aspects of annual financial and A-133 audit; addresses audit findings and recommendations and ensure full compliance with provisions of laws, regulations.Overseeing the organization s treasury function, inclusive of maintaining controls and forecasts.Preparing all IRS and tax documents, including the filing of amended tax returns and working with auditors, banks, payroll companies, and federal and state tax agencies, as necessary, in the implementation of the tasks listed above. DO YOU MEET THE PROFILE REQUIRED CRITERIA?
You re a dedicated and experienced professional
You have a BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance.You are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).You have experience within the nonprofit sector.You have a minimum of 5 years progressive managerial experience in financial management.You are experience working with large ERPs, financial systems (Serenic Navigator a plus).
You re passionate about humanitarian work
You have genuine interest in and commitment to the humanitarian principles and strategic objectives of Action Against Hunger.You have flexibility and ability to work cooperatively with subordinates, colleagues, supervisor and external stakeholders.Willingness and ability to visit programs and attend meetings, both nationally and internationally.Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented and outcome focused capacities.
