Description of task
Under the the overal supervision of the Resident Representative and the direct supervision of the Deputy Representative the volunteer will be in charge of bellow responsibilities:
1.Provide support to strategic programme planning and development, and lead business process implementation:
- Identify opportunities and approaches to support the establishment of AWLN National chapters across Africa;
- Provide support on the establishment of the AWLN National chapters across Africa;
- Support and advise the different CO during the preparation and the launch of their national chapters.
- Knowledge management, innovation and capacity building:
- Provide ideas on approaches and good practices to maximize efficiency and achieve concrete and sustainable results;
- Draft briefs, materials for technical support, visibility, branding and communication, guidance to enhance the knowledge of the staff in charge of the network across Africa and as requested.
- Provide coordination and analytical support to the Programme Management
- Gather, compile and analyze information from UN Women offices globally in the area of AWLN;
- Ensure that all information is provided in a consistent manner;
- Review documents and identify trends, lessons learned, best practices and challenges related to programme management;
- Review data from tracking and monitoring issues, provide recommendations based on the data and make PMO Specialist(s) aware of actions to be taken.
- Provide data information and knowledge management support
- Design, develop and manage UN Women programme management tracking and monitoring systems as it is related to AWLN;
- Create and maintain appropriate information and documentation to track/support the AWLN delivery;
- Prepare and/ or provide inputs to reports and provide data as needed;
- Review documents and identify trends, lessons learned, best practices and challenges related to programme management;
- Review and check substantive materials for accuracy as requested;
- Ensure all information on establishment, programme management and monitoring is easily available for all relevant offices;
- Update information on the intranet on programme management and results-based management.
- Coordination and liaison support
- Liaise with offices, including Country Offices, Regional Office, HQ staff and programme management on exchange of information and data, programme implementation and work planning;
- Provide technical support to Country Offices on programme management and results based management;
- Respond to queries and request for information;
- Compile and maintain data and documentation;
- Organize and coordinate regular meetings between Programme staff and Programme Head, keeping track of issues raised and ensuring action and follow-up when required.
- Training Management
- Provide support to the development of training materials on programme management and results based management
- Coordinate the organization on trainings and meetings on programme management
- Perform other official duties and special assignments which may be requested by the Head of the Programme .
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent
Education – Additional Comments:
Master’s degree (or equivalent) in one of the following disciplines: Finance, business administration or management, public administration, or other related fields.
Required experience: 24 Months
Experience remark:
- A minimum of 2 years of extensive development experience that combines strategic and managerial leadership in aid development cooperation, some of which is in gender and women’s issues programming, at the international level, preferably in developing countries within the UN system, Agencies, Funds or Programs or UN Mission;
- Strong financial operational background;
- Field based experience working with multi-cultural teams;
Language skills:
- French(Mandatory), Level – Fluent
- English(Mandatory), Level – Fluent
Area of expertise: Gender equality and the advancement of women, Other finance, economics and administration related experience
Area of expertise details:
