Saferworld is an independent international organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. Saferworld has undergone rapid growth in the last 5 years. Our global finance team has expanded to fit this new challenge and we continue to expand rapidly in some countries including Yemen – where Saferworld has its largest programme in the MENA region. We require an experienced Finance Manager to support the growing Yemen programme and the expansion of the programme into other countries in the region.

The post holder will be expected to:

• Develop strong relationships with colleagues in SW Yemen, partners in Yemen and London. Enhance their understanding of finance and create a ‘problem solving’ environment, acting as a liaison between London and Yemen for information-flows, requests and support, rather than a ‘gate keeper’ approach to interaction with Finance
• Building knowledge of donor reporting, financial reporting and accounting (including SUN) with colleagues and partners in Yemen remotely to improve financial management.
• Update Expenditure and ‘Forecast’ reporting each month and analyse performance variances
• Lead financial reporting to Saferworld colleagues, donors and London head office with a focus on optimal performance management
• Allocate key roles and responsibilities within Saferworld’s Yemen office
• Build capacity of and line -manage the finance Officers

Other requirements: The post-holder must have a valid UK work permit and may be required to travel to the MENA region to lead training with the Yemen finance team.
