    • Programme coordination and implementation 
    • Liaison with programme partners
    • Building partnerships between UNDP, the government, private sector organisations, national and international organisations, for the development of HackaDev Academy;
    • Organise regional, provincial and national workshops on HackaDev Academy programmes;
    • Develop learning modules/ connect with learning content providers for youth skill building, entrepreneurship and capacity building programmes under the HackaDev Academy;
    • Manage the operation and delivery of the programmes; 
    • Promoting future fit skills among youth
    • Scope areas of opportunity, identify organisations for financial and non-financial support
    • Manage the programme delivery team;
    • Represent the initiative at conferences and seminars;
    • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, government entities and departments, network partners, policy makers, and all other relevant parties as required;
    • Develop partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders involving youth, entrepreneurship, technology, innovation and vocational education. Such as at entrepreneurship development agencies, universities and ICT associations;
    • Contribute to the development of the broader HackaDev initiative. 
    • Assist in any and all other tasks as required within the broader youth and innovations portfolio
    • The programme will serve regional youth through ICT-Infused vocational and entrepreneurship skill development. The successful implementation of the project will advocate for a change at the policy level where there will be a need to increase the quality and quantity of opportunity available for young people in Sri Lanka.
    • By building on the successful model implemented in 2017, the initiative will engage and expose a diverse group of young people all around the country to material relevant to the needs of the 21st century and encourage them to become independent. This will serve as a career guidance and a learning platform for youth who would seek occupational prospects in near future. This initiative would potentially encourage young people to start start-ups that applies innovative and technology skills to the needs in a local community or connects to a global need.
    • The process will be an activation of young people where their entrepreneurial, innovative and leadership capabilities are significantly improved to position the youth of Sri Lanka as key partners in the development process of the country.
    • The programme will also engage a diverse plethora of national and international partners, from all sectors, public, private and development, in an effort to add value to the programme via the financial, technical and in kind support they would be providing. The synergies thus created from such collaborations will contribute towards strengthening the social innovation ecosystem in Sri Lanka.

     

    • Experience in coordination or implementing learning and skill building programmes nationwide. 
    • Previous experience working with e-learning platforms, technological learning products highly preferable;
    • Experience training/ coaching on entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, digital literacy and innovation;
    • Experience working with civil society organizations, government ministries, and youth groups, as well as working in a team from a variety of cultures;
    • Prior experience working in the UN system and familiarity with the work of UNDP Sri Lanka will be an advantage;
    • Direct experience supporting innovation processes and tasks;
    • Excellent coordination skills;
    • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability;
    • Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP;
    • Good team player who has ability to maintain good relationships with UNDP and Government;
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience in motivating cross-functional teams to meet ambitious project goals and timelines;
    • Strong research, organizational, and networking skills;
    • Creative flair and originality; 
    • High level of motivation, ability to show initiative and work independently without much supervision;
    • Ability to travel, regularly to regional and remote locations;
    • Bachelor’s degree in ICT, Entrepreneurship, Development Studies or related field with two (02) years of progressively responsible professional work experience at the national and/or international levels; 
    • Secondary Education with seven (07) years of experience in project management and coordination. Candidates with Higher Education along with substantial coordination experience will be considered;
    • Strong oral and written communication skills in English, along with Sinhala and/or Tamil is essential
