This position is on national terms and will be for an initial period two (2) years, subject to a probation period according to the local labour law. The contract could be renewed subject to performance, continued relevance of the position and availability
Job Description
Conduct activities related to the project activities implementation on the ground
– Contribute the implementation of Climate Smart Villages
– Co-organize CSA practices prioritization workshops and stakeholder training
– Co-supervise climate change related surveys
– Contribute to the development of data collection tools for research activities carried out in research.
– Consolidate and contribute to the analysis of the survey data
– Contribute to weather data analysis in support to decision making in the cashew sector
– Mobilize and coordinate activities with local administrative authorities and communities
– Supervise Field Attendants, temporary workers activities
– Provide technical support for research activities conducted by students and trainees working on cashew
– Produce activity progress monthly report
– Contribute to the development of research proposals, scientific writing
Requirements
– At least Master’s Degree in Agro-climatology, Environmental or other Earth Sciences, Soil Science or Equivalent.
– Computer proficiency, knowledge in programming (R or Python) is an advantage
– Experience with cashew cropping systems
– Experience of the design and implementation of field research experiments
– Two (2) years of relevant experience in similar position,
– at least 6 months experience in research dealing with Agriculture and Climate variability and/or change
– Proven knowledge in both Climatology and Agronomy
