A non-profit company, providing free, comprehensive health services to communities nationwide is recruiting for an Internal Review Administrator. Responsibilities: Risk reviews Perform annual risk assessment linked to various awards Assist in developing a risk register for the organisation Planning and administration Assist in developing an annual internal audit plan Assist in determining internal review scope Assist in developing the methodology for performing internal reviews and conduct the implementation Internal financial reviews Implement the risk-based plan by selecting an appropriate audit approach, test procedures and sampling criteria based on professional judgement and departmentally-defined internal audit methodology Perform audit tests and prepare working papers in accordance with professional standards and internal audit methodology Test the adequacy of process design and the effectiveness of controls in meeting business and control objectives Document control and process weaknesses and provide evidential support for findings Organise and reference work papers for review by supervisor Investigate identified irregularities Compliance Monitoring and Support Assist with analysis, interpreting and applying federal, state, Local Government, international funders and private funders statutes, rules, and regulations regarding grants administration Stay up to date with funder rules and regulations and monitor compliance with the rules Test compliance with funder requirements regarding disbarred vendors, purchasing regulations, equipment inventory, and closing documents through the reviews Test compliance with statutory and legal requirements including Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) through the reviews Re porting Prepare and present reports that reflects audit results to the supervisor for review Assist in the preparation of a concise and informative audit report to effectively communicate the findings and recommendations to the departments, senior management and the audit and risk committee Support the supervisor through participation in projects designed to introduce new and/or changing processes Assist in the collection, coordination and dissemination of material for the audit and risk committee meetings Responsible for the filing system for retention of manual records, as well as the electronic filing system on SharePoint, of all working papers, reports and other relevant supporting documents for the internal audit function Stakeholder engagement Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (funders, auditors, sub-awardees) Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders (unit manager, programme managers, audit and risk committee, staff, team members etc.) Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
· A recognised professional designation in accounting or internal audit · (CA,CMA,CGA,CIA or CISA) · 1 – 2 years relevant experience at a minimum · NGO experience advantageous · Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) knowledge advantageous · An understanding of risk and control concepts. Ability to apply these concepts to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes and controls to mitigate risk to tolerance level defined by the audit and risk committee · Knowledge of professional IIA performance standards with regards to planning, testing, sampling and documentation · Good understanding of accounting principles · Intermediate technical skills in Word, PowerPoint and Excel (formulas, pivots, charts) · Ability to manipulate large volumes of data and compile detailed reports
