UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF operations globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology. How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is seeking an intern to support the Global Payroll team within the Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary. The intern will gain Human Resources related and Payroll exposure globally, in a shared services environment. This role will offer the opportunity to understand HR policies, procedures, processes and systems covering Global Payroll function, supporting the employees across UNICEF country and head quarter locations.

The internship will also provide exposure within an international environment to learn about UNICEF’s mission, its various programs and how it operates globally.

This will involve:

  • Contribute ideas and be involved in implementing Global Payroll quality and analytics frame work and best practices.
  • Provide overall support to Global Payroll – Quality Assurance (QA lead).
  • Opportunity to work with Chief of Global Payroll in supporting the Analytics and Reporting (internal and external facing using Business Intelligence) requirements pertaining to Payroll function.
  • Work on quality methodologies and tools like Six Sigma and lean.
  • Productivity measurement and related metrics.
  • Assist in the process of Risk assurance and control framework covering aspects like roles & responsibilities, Segregation of duties, User access controls etc.
  • Understand and review SOPs and Process instructions
  • Document discussions and decisions related to the work program as part of ongoing process reviews.

  • Current enrollment in a programme at the Master’s level or recent graduate, preferably in Information systems & Analytics, Human Resources, Business Administration.
  • Knowledge of ERP and/or CRM/Service management systems is required.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence (BI), Quality tools, techniques and framework including project management skills are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is mandatory.
  • Fluency in English with strong reading, interpreting and writing skills is mandatory.
  • Essential skills include excellent organization and time management skills, attention to detail, rigor and a strong sense of personal responsibility and drive for result.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to take projects to completion.
  • Eligible applicants must be nationals of EU countries or be eligible to work in Hungary.

Contract Duration

Internship contracts are for 3 to 6 months duration, according to intern’s availability and organizational needs.

Internships are paid with a stipend of HUF 138.882 for full-time (40 hrs/week), which would be prorated according to attendance.

The anticipated start date of this internship is November 01, 2019.
