Ethics Communications and Outreach Consultant

Background : ETH currently seeks a Contractual to assist the Office in its main business activities. More specifically, the Contractual will help support and expand innovative outreach, training, education, and communications activities and assist with data analytics.

The team: Specifically, the Office is responsible for providing advice and guidance to employees in the application and interpretation of the IDB Group’s Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (the ‘Code’), for investigating allegations of employee misconduct, for carrying out outreach, education, and training activities, and for the administration of the IDB Group’s annual Declaration of Interests Program.

The team’s mission: ETH was established in 2007 to support the IDB Group and its employees in its internal integrity and governance structure and activities.

What you’ll do:

1. Assist ETH in its outreach, communications, and training activities for all IDB Group employees and relevant third-parties. This includes -but is not limited to- developing ethics e-learning modules; identifying best practices; designing and implementing innovative training and communications campaigns and products (e.g. interactive presentations, ethics bulletins, videos, and learning programs on different topics).

2. Support the development and production of the ETH Annual Report and other relevant documents.

3. Give presentations on ethics issues to different audiences.

4. Produce communications materials and coordinate with external vendors, as needed.

5. Provide planning and logistical support in the preparation of events.

6. Manage the ETH website and other ETH communications avenues to increase the presence of ethics issues in IDB Group internal communications.

7. Work collaboratively with the Knowledge, Innovation, and Communications Department and other IDB Group departments on outreach, communications and training partnerships.

8. Support ETH data analytics efforts focusing on the analysis of consultations, investigations, and other data sources.

9. Provide support in the development of quarterly data and performance reports.

10. Coordinate and provide assistance on special events to promote ETH trainings and communications.

11. Support efforts to ensure compliance with mandatory employee programs (ethics training, Declaration of Interests).

12. Contribute to the production of ETH documents based on ‘lessons learned’ trends, and benchmarking exercises.

13. Carry out other tasks on an as-needed basis to support the work program of ETH, including providing administrative support and serving as audio and videoconference administrator.

What you’ll need:

Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field required. Master’s Degree preferred. Two years of professional experience required.

Experience: Experience in compliance or business ethics preferred. Experience working in an international organization or other multicultural environment

Languages: Oral and written fluency in English and Spanish required. French and/or Portuguese desirable

Core and Technical Competencies:

  • Demonstrated strong communications and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated strong skills in technology platforms and tools, including MS Office suite (advanced Power Point and Excel), Microsoft SharePoint, Tableau software, case management software, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and/or other relevant software/apps (e.g.; Prezi, Slido, Survey Monkey, etc.) used in communications and outreach activities.
