RBM Partnership to End Malaria

The past fifteen years have seen tremendous gains in reducing the burden of disease and progressing towards malaria elimination. Since 2000, global malaria deaths have been cut by more than half, saving 7 million lives, primarily among children less than five years of age. Expansions in financing, strong political commitments, novel diagnostic and preventative measures, and multi-sectoral co-ordination have facilitated this progress. Since 1998, RBM Partnership to End Malaria has been central to the global fight against malaria. It has been essential to mobilizing resources and scaling up innovative interventions, putting the world onto a path towards eliminating malaria. The Partnership comprises more than 500 partners committed to end malaria, including malaria endemic countries, their bilateral and multilateral development partners, the private sector, nongovernmental and community-based organizations, foundations, and research and academic institutions.

The RBM Partnership’s Vision is of a world free from the burden of malaria. The RBM Partnership is based in Geneva and hosted by UNOPS.

The role provides coordination, logistical, and policy support to the Country and Regional Support Partner Committee (CRSPC) Manager and Co-Chairs to achieve the core objectives and strategic priorities of the Partnership and the Committee. The staff member should ensure an environment of professionalism and teamwork at all times, setting exemplary standards of conduct for the RBM Secretariat and external partners.

Communications and Networking

  • Participates in establishing an effective network and exchange of information with partners
  • Maintains efficient communication and collaboration with the CRSPC Sub-Regional offices and the National Malaria Control Programmes in countries, anticipating and providing timely support and engaging all parties in the relevant dialogues and activities
  • Serves as a communication point of contact for the CRSPC, following up on all professional correspondence, responding to requests, and referring queries as appropriate
  • As advised by the CRSPC Manager and Co-Chairs, reaches out to prospective partners, identifies relevant contact persons and areas of potential collaboration
  • Contributes to delivering effective external communications prior to and after RBM events

Coordination and Logistics Support

  • Coordinates technical assistance to countries through CRSPC Consultants, by supporting mission logistics and following up on mission reporting and consultant remuneration
  • Prepares briefing materials for appointments, conference calls, meetings and missions, coordinates such requests, takes minutes and ensures relevant follow-up actions
  • Effectively manages queries received via the general CRSPC email address and provides follow-up with relevant colleagues as required. Maintains and updates the CRSPC contacts database and distribution lists
  • Coordinates, in collaboration with the RBM Travel Assistant, consultant advance travel planning and advises on respective budgeting, as per the CRSPC Workplan
  • Manages the CRSPC manager’s mission and representation schedule, as well as related travel arrangements
  • Coordinates RBM events, workshops and other events for the CRSPC, including corresponding with participants and facilitating participant travel if required.
  • Extensive travel to CRSPC events to provide on-site coordination and support during workshops and events, including taking minutes and supporting logistical coordination
  • Participate in the development of CRSPC work plans, and implementation strategies including quarterly plans
  • Participates in all other tasks designated by the CRSPC Manager and Co-Chairs as required

Analysis and Documentation

  • Produces regular updates on CRSPC activities and achievements including reports, as well as any other informative / promotional materials as required
  • Undertakes research for CRSPC activities and workshops, contributes to concept notes, reports and other documents / materials in coordination with CRSPC Manager and Co-Chairs
  • Contributes to the documentation of knowledge by proposing examples of best practices and success stories, as well as replicable strategies and approaches, and actively sharing this knowledge
  • Drafts and coordinates the dissemination of the monthly email CRSPC newsletter
  • Develops and updates CRSPC-related materials on the RBM website

Advanced university degree in Public Health, Business, Public Administration, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences, or related field.

Bachelor’s degree in these fields will be accepted with an additional 2 year of relevant experience.


Minimum 2 years of experience in operational, consulting, external relations, public affairs or international development cooperation is required.


Fluent spoken and written English and French is required.
