Background.

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an international, humanitarian, non-profit, non-governmental organization which provides assistance, protection and durable solutions to refugees and internally displaced persons worldwide. NRC is working in Ethiopia in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and The Administration for Refugees and Returnee Affairs ARRA) to implement provision of access to Shelter, food security, WASH and quality education in Ethiopia for Somali, Eritrean, and Sudanese refugees as well as host communities around the refugee camps in Dolo Ado, Shire, Gambella and Asosa districts.

Regional development protection programme (RDPP) lot2 is implementing, an Improved Social Cohesion Initiative (DISCO) project in the Dollo Ado and Bokolmayo areas. The Project is implementing by a consortium of five NGOs: Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), Danish Refugee Council (DRC), Save the Children International (SCI), ZOA, and the Organization for Welfare and Development in Action (OWDA), where NRC is lead Organization. The objective of the project is to improve protection services, integrated service delivery, building the capacity of local authorities for the delivery of such integrated service delivery and strengthening the coordination of assistance to host and refugee populations.

Purpose of the work

• Know how to apply the main analytical tools and techniques used for strategic planning
• Combine and leverage analytical and creative thinking to ensure sustainability investment made
• Keep teams focused on strategic objectives and requirements for productive and long lasting interventions
• Build strong public-private relationships in development activities
