Organizational Setting
The Department of Management (MT) provides a ‘platform of services’ that serves as a foundation for the successful delivery of the IAEA’s scientific and technical programmes. Its mission statement is as follows: ‘MT is a partner and a business enabler that champions change and efficiency, leveraging a common purpose’. Thus, among other support activities, it assists a scientific manager in recruiting the right expert, helps a technical officer coordinate the purchase of radiation equipment, and ensures that all Board documents are translated and distributed on a timely basis to Member States.
The Division of Information Technology provides support to the IAEA in the field of information and communication technology (ICT), including information systems for technical programmes and management. It is responsible for planning, developing and implementing an ICT strategy, for setting and enforcing common ICT standards throughout the Secretariat and for managing central ICT services. The IAEA’s ICT infrastructure comprises hardware and software platforms, and cloud and externally-hosted services. The Division has implemented an IT service management model based on ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library) and Prince2 (Projects in a Controlled Environment) best practices.
The Client Services Section (CSS) is responsible for setting standards, providing first and second level support of the IAEA’s desktop computing environment, delivery of the IAEA’s IT training programme and promoting client oriented services. It designs, manages and implements desktop services, including their architecture, processes and policies to meet current and future business requirements. It aims at achieving the delivery of agreed levels of services to clients in compliance with best practices defined by international standards, in particular ITIL.
Main Purpose
Reporting to the Head, Client Services Section, the Associate Training Officer (IT) plays a full role in the design, coordination and delivery of training courses in various AIPS and IT modules, for IAEA personnel including staff members.
Role
The Associate Training Officer (IT) is: (1) a trainer contributing to the development and delivery of training courses, training material, and e-learning material; (2) a coordinator, serving all IAEA staff, using appropriate training methods in order to address training needs; (3) a communicator, liaising with staff at large, preparing and updating high quality instructional material, training reports, gathering and analysis of student feedback in order to improve the quality and delivery of training courses delivered.
Functions / Key Results Expected
Reporting to the Head, MTIT Client Services Section, the incumbent will: Carry out regular training needs analysis for Agency staff on the various AIPS and IT modules and help prepare appropriate training strategies and plans to address these needs;
Design training courses and training materials in electronic and printed formats, including the production of SCORM compliant e-learning modules and HQ video tutorials.
Update training material and delivery methods as required;
Schedule and deliver class room training and briefing sessions in the modules of the AIPS system, as well as other IT systems and associated business processes, including at times, specific tailored training sessions for Divisions around the Agency;
On behalf of MTIT, contribute and assist in the effective transition and rollout of the newly acquired cloud-based Learning Management System (LMS);
Assist in the development of a centralised, all-encompassing, repository for online learning material related to IT and AIPS modules for all IAEA staff.

Qualifications, Experience and Language skills
- University degree in training, communications, business administration, international relations, liberal arts or other related fields.
- A minimum of two years’ professional experience in training or teaching, of which at least one year should have been devoted to training in Oracle E-Business Suite R12.

- Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.
Remuneration
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at US $47322 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance), a variable post adjustment which currently amounts to US $ 19449*, dependency benefits, rental subsidy, education grant, relocation and repatriation expenses; 6 weeks’ annual vacation, home leave, pension plan and health insurance
